Not sure who said it (and avoiding doing a Google search to find out and pretend I knew it off the top of my head). However, it describes the way I feel about working on environmental issues so I’ll take a guess in that area… Rachel Carson? John Muir? Robert Kennedy Jr.? (It can’t be Al Gore - he’s not that succinct).
